A FORCE FOR GOOD
We were amazed, and delighted when we found out we had won the Force for Good competition worth $5000 of marketing services!
The award is the brainchild of Force Five, a South Bend-based brand development and marketing company. They said this about the competition:
The greatest heroes don’t wear capes, can’t fly and aren’t from a distant planet. They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things every day. They lead, operate or volunteer at the many non-profit organizations (NPOs) in our community in an effort to make our world a better place. And like all heroes, when they are empowered, they become a force for good.
Now Bridges even has a red “heroes hotline” phone! (In the photo below, you see left to right Baye Sylvester, Mara Martinez, Janet Bonham, David Morgan, Barbara Jung, Bonnie Bazata, and Deb DeFreeuw.)
This first annual competition that had 19 nonprofits competing and 4,712 individuals who voted 9,294 times. We knew many of those 19 organizations and knew they were all doing good and important work. We are humbled to have this honor among so many worthy groups.
So we met with Force Five staff, David Morgan, Deb DeFreeuw , Christian Mattix, Nevin McElwrath, and Jason Stratton –what a great team! I’m pretty sure after our 45 minute presentation they might have been reconsidering their choice – the issue of poverty is pretty complex and so is our approach! Thank you Force Five team for your generosity and belief in our work.
We asked them to help us craft a compelling message about why poverty matters to the whole community.
- And we want to ask you – what do you think we should say in this message?
If you have ideas, you can leave them on the comments section on any one of our web pages.
And while you are there, would you also consider making a financial contribution as well? Your dollars make it possible for us to continue this important work of ending poverty in our community.
With your help, we can be a force for good.
